Frequently Asked Questions

1. Which accessories are needed for a complete flooring installation?

Requirements depend on the flooring type, subfloor, room layout and adjoining surfaces. A project may require underlay or a vapour barrier, scotia, transition trims, reducers, end profiles, adhesives and stair nosing. Contact Nextyl with the flooring model and measurements for compatibility guidance.

2. Do I need additional underlay when flooring already has attached underlay?

Usually, an additional soft underlay should not be installed beneath flooring with attached acoustic backing unless the supplier specifically approves it. Extra underlay can affect movement or the locking system. A separate moisture or vapour barrier may still be required over concrete.

3. How do I choose compatible scotia, trims and stair nosing?

Match accessories to the flooring colour, board thickness, expansion requirements and adjoining floor height. Compatibility is more important than appearance alone. Use the flooring product name or SKU when selecting colour-matched scotia, transition trims or stair nosing.

4. Can incorrect flooring accessories affect the product warranty?

Yes. Incompatible underlay, adhesives, moisture barriers or trims can contribute to movement, locking-system damage or moisture problems and may affect warranty coverage. Use supplier-approved accessories, follow the installation guide and retain product and installation records.
