Good flooring performance begins below the surface. Correct product selection, subfloor preparation, expansion planning and ongoing care all influence the finished result and may be conditions of the manufacturer warranty.

Before installation

1. Read the product instructions: use the documentation for the exact range, not general advice for the flooring category.
2. Inspect the site: the building should be enclosed and appropriate temperature and humidity conditions established.
3. Test the subfloor: confirm moisture, flatness, strength and cleanliness using the required test method.
4. Plan transitions and edges: confirm expansion gaps, doorway trims, skirting, scotia or quad before laying begins.
5. Confirm services: check compatibility with underfloor heating and other site conditions where relevant.

Professional installation

Nextyl supplies flooring products; professional installation is recommended. Patterned layouts, stairs, direct-stick timber and subfloors needing rectification require particular skill. Retain product labels, batch details, invoices and installation records for future reference.

Everyday care

• Remove grit frequently with a soft broom or suitable vacuum head.
• Use entrance mats and felt protectors under furniture.
• Wipe spills promptly and avoid allowing liquid to remain at joints or edges.
• Use only cleaning products and damp-cleaning methods approved for the selected floor.
• Do not use steam cleaning unless the manufacturer expressly permits it.
• Lift heavy furniture rather than dragging it.

Managing sunlight and indoor conditions

Use blinds or curtains where intense direct sunlight may cause uneven colour change or heat. Timber products naturally respond to their environment, so maintain indoor conditions within the product instructions.

If damage occurs

Photograph the area, isolate the cause and keep the site dry. Do not remove large areas before checking the product warranty process or obtaining professional advice.
